NEWBAUM'S CLOTH RIM TAPE

Rim tape, also known as rim strips, is designed to create a protective barrier between your inner tube and the drilled-out spoke holes in your rim. Without this protection, an inflated inner tube rubbing against the exposed sharp edges of the spoke holes can lead to a flat tire. Newbaum's Rim Tape offers long-lasting protection for both your wheels and inner tubes.

The tape uses a stable adhesive that stays in place on both mountain bike wheels and road wheels with high-pressure tires. Unlike common thin plastic rim tape, Newbaum's Rim Tape is made of a durable cotton/synthetic woven cloth material, making it more tear-resistant and easier to work with. The edges of the tape are reinforced to prevent fraying.

Each roll of Newbaum's Rim Tape measures 6.6 ft (201cm) in length, which is typically enough to cover one 700c wheel. The tape is designed to resist shifting better than cheaper plastic alternatives and won't deteriorate as quickly as traditional rubber rim strips.

Newbaum's Rim Tape is available in three different widths to accommodate various wheel sizes. The 17mm size is suitable for 700c racing wheels, while the 22mm size is better suited for wider 700c gravel and mountain bike (MTB) wheels. There is also a 10mm option for specialty applications. It's important to determine the internal width of your rim before purchasing to ensure you get the right size.

This product is made in the USA and features a pre-cut hole for easy positioning over the valve hole. It's important to note that Newbaum's Rim Tape is designed for protecting your inner tubes from the rim's spoke holes, and is not intended for use in tubeless tire conversions.
